QuestionWell serves as an invaluable AI tool for educational purposes. It excels at extracting learning objectives and formulating multiple choice questions that align with the provided content.
Key features include:
Topic Input: Users are encouraged to provide a topic to steer the AI's understanding of the desired direction for the questions. There's flexibility to either paste an existing reading that houses the content intended for testing or draft new content. While the software proves adept at gleaning Learning Objectives (LOs), users may optionally add specific objectives or standards. It also supports different languages, and the developers are open to requests for additional languages not already available. Recent upgrades introduce the capability for creating fill-in-the-blanks and short answer questions.
Learning Objectives & Essential Questions: The AI analyzes the provided text to identify a series of LOs. It then designs key questions to facilitate student learning. Numbers next to the LOs provide the count of generated questions and the subset currently marked as "selected". For differing LOs, just re-run the process with user-specific objectives. The tool also allows filtering by different question types.
Question Selection: The most user-centric task is to review and pick preferred questions. The '+' button in the top left corner allows easy addition of questions to the user's quiz. Users can filter questions based on the learning objective or question type, using the left panel. The capability exists to edit questions and answers directly. A duplicate icon allows for copying and editing questions, while undesirable questions can be deleted via the trash icon. Users can also flag questions to assist in the refinement of the AI learning process. A premium feature allows for the reading to be amended via an Edit icon in the top right corner.
Export: The tool offers various exporting options to cater to all user needs, such as creating an interactive classroom activity, planning substitute lessons, or drafting a summative assessment. Instructions are provided for each option.
